Extractions of the mind!

Typically the blog serves a few purposes; photo sharing, announcements, storytelling, etc. Rarely do I like to use the blog as any type of journal, or confessional-but today, the blog serves as my own personal verbal receptacle (but wait--it's written..soo....) --mostly to keep those of you who live far, and don't call or e-mail me apprised of the current state of mind that I am in.

1-I am really grateful for my life. I mean really. REALLY. I am just about as happy as one could possibly be. Which is great, because it is a 50/50 chance--happy/sad...and sometimes it isn't your fault if you are the latter.

2-Life is really hard. It makes sense that it is a test. Tests are usually hard. We (teachers) expect that the majority of the group will be in the C/B range...Does Heavenly Father expect that of us? Just a thought. I don't think so.

3-Why is it that we always want more. I hope that someday, SOON, I can "want what I have." OR is it "have what you want. Hahahaha.

4-I think I want to be a Principal. My Principal pulled me aside a few weeks ago, and encouraged me to do so...I wasn't sure that I wanted to, but now, I am more convinced...We'll see.

5-I have RA, I was just diagnosed with it two weeks ago. Yep. I am an 85 year old woman here. That sucks. Perhaps a post later about this...It's depressing.

6-I really want new baseboards in my house. And crown, and texture, and flooring, and paint, and cabinets, and hardware, and insulation, and furniture, and landscaping, and...Please refer to number 3.

7-I mixed my finger in a mixer last week. It hurt really bad. I really felt stupid, and now my ring wont fit over my knuckle.

8-My house is a mess, I hate that.

9-I really like spring/summer. It is like heaven.

10-After 13 years, I don't think that I am going to teach swimming lessons this year. And isn't it ironic that I bought a house from a woman who taught swimming lessons for 30 years.

11-I really like my Blockbuster pass thing...we have had it for about 7 months now, and we have watched thousands of dollars worth of rental movies, and I LOVE IT. Of course we haven't paid thousands of dollars though--hence, loving the good deal.

12-I love my new Podiatrist. She is awesome. She isn't so sure that I actually have Plantar Fascitist anymore, but that it is connected with my RA.

13-We have had dinner with the Smith's more this month than without. I love them. We will never break up with them. Wink.

14-I cook.

15-No really, I do, I cook--and it is kinda good.

16-How come I cried at he end of Juno last night?

17-I am SO excited to go to Utah next month. I really am as excited as if I was going to Mexico or somewhere AMAZING. I just can't wait to see friends.

18-This is getting long and annoying...even to me...why are you still reading this?

If you want to call to talk, you should.. :)

RA isn't just an old woman thing.. Do autoimmune diseases run in your family? When my doctor told me that my red eyes might be due to an autoimmune disease, it hit me really hard. So yeah, I can understand your pain a little.

We are coming to California over Memorial Day weekend.. Are you going to be in town?

Are you both going to UT? Sounds good to me right now :) I need to just walk into Target or have a Dunkin Donut or something! Are they sure the diagnosis for rheumatoid arthritis is correct? Do you have to take special medications and are you in lots of pain? I will email you to find out the answers of these questions and more . . . hang in here and remember we're praying for you. Principal Hamberlin, I like it :)

Tish,
So sorry to hear about the RA thing. My sister has RA, so if you have any questions or just want to vent, I'm here!!! Love ya!!

Have you talked to your doctor about Remicade (infliximab)regarding RA? It is a tnf-alpha blocker- should only be used for accute RA. I'm not your doctor so I can't assess whether you fall under the accute status.

It is also very expensive ($800-2,000 a pop, depending on your dosage mg) so you had better have good health care benefits. Just some thoughts.

Tish - you're amazing. I'm sorry to hear about the RA. What kind of treatments are out there? I'm glad for your trip to Utah! Sounds fun. Are you really considering becoming a Principle? That's so cool. Then I could move back to NC and you could hire me :)
