What we have been up to...

Well, where to start...hmmm. I am going to backtrack a little bit and share one more picture from Jason's wedding-because I just got it off my camera. This is Breanne, Anna, their kids, and I. That was back in November-- we just had such a good time being back together. Anna has been living in Spain for a long time now, and we rarely get to see her.

Moving on. In early December, Darren started working on the nursery--which is almost done, and is so cute! He just put up the crib and such last week. Here are some pic's from that. The "Baby Mordor" that he painted on the wall, took 4 coats to cover up! hA. He was so mad.

Then, the snow came. No--if you are a faithful blog reader--this is not a dejaVu of last years snow--this is ANOTHER FREAKING TREE that fell on our driveway. This one was way bigger, and fell much further. We are SO grateful that nothing happened to the cars. I hate the snow. I don't know why I subject myself to living in it. I guess because the other 360 days a year, this place is so GREAT!

Finally, I put in this picture of the nativity because I have to tell this quick story. So this BEAUTIFUL masterpiece was hand carved in Germany and sent to us via Darren's parents while they were on their mission and we were engaged. That year we began a tradition that has continued since. We unwrap each piece, one at a time, and whomever finds Jesus first gets a prize. You can't tell if you have a sheep or the savior because they are all individually wrapped in the same size packaging. It is actually quite funny. Anyway---since we are so broke this year, we decided the prize should be something that doesn't cost anything. AND--ladies and gentleman---that is how Darren became the sole decider in the NAMING OUR FIRST BORN CHILD! He found Jesus. Enough said. Here is the picture he wanted me to take of him GLOATING.

That is the first real "baby belly" picture I've seen of you! Finally! It's so fun to see how pregnant you are. You look fantastic and your hair is super cute.

I love that Darren won the naming prize by finding Jesus; that will be a great story to tell little Mordor. Miss you guys. Sorry we couldn't make it up to Auburn last weekend. I'll be coming in on Friday night and the open house isn't until 6pm on saturday (but I might not have a car). I hope I get to see you two.

I love the prize! Alma names our kids, but I retain veto power to avoid a little Alma the Younger.

You're such a cute little pregnant lady! I'm sad you no longer have the creepy "baby Mordor" on the wall, but hey.. it's Darren's job to name the baby. I wonder how old the baby will be when he finally decides on the name... (Sorry D.)

I love that nativity tradition. Maybe Graham and I should do something like that..

It snowed like that up here too.. for like 2 weeks! We were almost stuck in our apartment for Christmas, but we made it down to Portland, thank goodness.

Darren better get with the program and figure out a name, since your baby is ON THE WAY as I type. Hope everything goes as well as can be expected... and post some baby pictures soon!
