The day from you know where...literally

I say literally because it really was 107 degrees yesterday in Sacramento. Why do you care to know this...let me explain. I am teaching summer school right now and working with 5-6 year olds. KILL ME NOW. Yesterday we took the kids on a 1.5-hour bus ride down to Sacramento to see, not one, but two movies at the IMAX Theater. First of all they are 5 years old, they cannot stay still for 10 minutes, let alone, 3 hours! So you can imagine how that went. Then we walked about 6 blocks to a park to eat lunch. This was a great field trip for the older kids in our school, but not made for my class. The kids were dying, we were all hot and thirsty and ready to go home. But no, that would not happen...why? Because of all things our bus gets in a hit and run accident! Can you believe that! So we load up on the bus, (pleather seats mind you)...and try to set off for home. Nope. It took forty minutes of just sitting in the heat with no air and three kids to a seat before we could leave. The next thing I know, I've got to shuffle a bunch of kids around because A) two kids are ready to puke, and B) One super annoying little boy is pouring his water all over him...not a good idea...I was so mad! I made the kid come and sit next to me at the front of the bus. SO picture this, I am sitting on a children's school bus, wearing a hefty cotton T-shirt that is mandated, in 107 degree heat, with two kids on my right that are just about ready to blow, and one kid on my left that is soaking wet and HYSTERICALLY CRYING! (He will not stop crying because he got into trouble. Not just a whimper either!) Could it get any worse? YES!!! The cutest little girl in the seat next to me is starting to cry because she has to pee and cannot hold it any longer. You may ask, "Tisha, why don't you stop the bus and let her pee?" Good question, WE CANNOT STOP THE BUS BECAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT, they are afraid that if we stop the engine will not go again! WE ARE FORTY MINUTES FROM HOME STILL!!!!!!! Beads of sweat are now pouring down my face and I am ready to throw myself off the bus and deal with whatever comes of making that choice...it sucked. The story goes on, but reliving it like this is starting to make me twitch...the day did not get any better, and ended with a masters class that was pure misery! I am so glad that all days are not like this!

What a nightmare! Such a bummer that even dream jobs have days like that! But at least it was a good story for posting! Hope you're recovering!
